Osprey
A distinct raptor, in more ways than one--my favorite. Being close by them, when they migrate back, is important to me. We are lucky for them to have recovered as they did.
In a word, an osprey is unique. There’s a long list of traits that make them so. They are the sole member of the Pandionidae family, because nothing else is alike them enough to also be a member.
